Description

The display is a respectable 5-inch, 1,280-by-720 TFT LCD, which gives it a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch (). It's sharper than you'll find on some entry-level phones, but not an exceptional screen by any means. Models that cost just a little bit more, including the Galaxy J3 (294ppi) and Zmax 2 (267ppi), have screens that are similarly crisp. Unfortunately, the display is a bit reflective and doesn't get too bright, so it becomes difficult to see in direct sunlight. Network Performance and Connectivity The Phoenix 2 operates on GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz), UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz), and LTE (2/4/5/12/29) bands. That's similar to what you'll find on the J3 and Zmax 2, but both of those phones lack band 29, which is used for supplemental downlink bandwidth for HSPA . Network performance was average in testing. The phone also supports Bluetooth 4.1, but doesn't include NFC, and only works with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networksif you have a dual-band system at home, the phone won't be able to connect to the 5GHz channel. Related Story See How We Test Cell Phones Voice calls are clear and free from in the earpiece, but transmissions sound somewhat raspy and robotic. Noise cancellation is good, blotting out the majority of background sound, but earpiece volume could afford to be louder. Processor, Battery, and Camera The Phoenix 2 is powered by a dated Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It scored 19,231 on the Antutu benchmark, which tests overall system performance. That's lower than you'll get on the Snapdragon 410-powered Zmax 2 (21,463), but not significantly so. With 1.5GB of RAM, the phone is capable of running the basic apps most users will want, but if you try to run too many at once you will hit the RAM usage limit. That said, it doesn't feel sluggish, and can even play advanced games like Asphalt 8, albeit with some jerkiness
